Volunteers are the rocket fuel that powers the ICA. And we offer a variety of ways for our members to get involved. With every new volunteer, the ICA grows more dynamic, diverse, inclusive, and empowered to reach our common goals.

The ICA carries out its work through a member-driven structure of Teams and working groups. Each ICA Team has a specific mission that is vital to the success of the Alliance and its members. The ICA Communications & Marketing team works to develop and execute media and public communications strategies to promote the Alliance’s mission, projects, and activities. Additionally, the team creates innovative marketing strategies, opportunities, and tools that benefit the Alliance and independent exhibitors.

The ICA Education Committee is responsible for the development of the Alliance’s educational content and programs. This includes ICA Live!, webinars, conference presentations, and other programming opportunities.

The ICA Marketplace leverages the efficiencies created by the ICA’s membership to develop partnerships and programs that provide independent exhibitors with national account pricing and rebates on seats, lightbulbs, services, and more. The Marketplace has three departments to establish exclusive member benefits:

Foodservice: Develops benefits for members’ concessions operations, including discounts and rebates on food and beverage-related products and additional resources.
Equipment and Technology: Develops partnerships with installers, manufacturers, and technology leaders that create efficiencies and improve the bottom line of ICA members.
General Purchasing: Negotiates pricing and rebates on myriad products that keep independent movie theaters operating—ranging from facility maintenance to cleaning supplies.

The ICA Membership Committee is responsible for collaborating with the Board of Directors and staff, committees, and members on key strategies, challenges, and needs to provide insight on membership recruitment, engagement, and retention strategies. The Membership Committee provides a critical link between ICA members and leadership, so that the Alliance continues to develop valuable benefits, programs, and services.

The ICA Studio Relations Committee is responsible for developing and executing the Alliance’s strategy to create efficiencies and promote actions that will enhance independent exhibitor revenue streams and promote their screens as essential to film studios.

ICA Committees

The ICA Policies, Procedures and Ethics Committee oversees the Alliance’s Bylaws, policies and procedures, and propose changes as desirable for the consideration of the Board of Directors.

The ICA Finance Committee provides financial analysis, advice, and oversight of the Alliance’s budget. Their sole responsibility is to ensure the ICA is operating with the financial resources it needs to provide programs and services to its members.
